During the last week police did almost tens IPR raids for checking copyright compliance for Adobe Systems Inc. software. As appeared, each of the raided entities violated IPR Laws and used pirated Adobe Systems Inc. SW.
For some raids several criminal cases were opened by article 176 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (copyright violations).
For example, a criminal case was opened against the officials of the training center “NADIYA”, who had been using Adobe Photoshop CS3, Adobe Photoshop CS & Adobe Illustrator CS for commercial purposes. General damage to Adobe Systems Inc. is equal to 39 678 UAH.
Besides, an issue for criminal case opening has been resolving against officials of polygraph-center “DEMITA”, who used pirated SW of the copyright holder. Damage = 24948 UAH, all HW&SW were sized. 

In the framework of Pavel’s Mykolyuk visit to Dnepropetrovsk an IPR training for the regional police officers, engaged in combating IPR violations was organized. More than 30 police officers participated at the event, getting more knowledge regarding Adobe licensing, counterfeit SW elements, either legal or procedural IPR best practices.
