In 2011 law enforcement bodies opene10 criminal cases by article 176 (copyrights violations) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine for Graphisoft R&D intellectual property rights violations.

The majority of such cases related to commercial use of ArchiCAD software.

In Lughansk region, a criminal case was opened for unlicensed  ArchiCAD installation by building company “Shid Bud”.  During police raid 7 pirated software copies were detected. Damage caused to copyright holder was 244769 UAH.

In Dnepropetrovsk a criminal case was opened against officials of “Ukrbudproject», which used unlicensed samples of ArchiCAD. Damage to Graphisoft R&D = 66698 UAH.

Police officers in Kyiv did some raids against architectural companies. All the raids proved facts of pirated Graphisoft R&D software use for business purposes.

Notwithstanding warning letters of the copyright holder’s lawyer, management of such entities as «Architectural house Pysartsya & Plotnikovoy», creative workroom of Kudin, creative workroom of Leshenko continued pirated software use. In this respect all the hardware with unlicensed software were seized during the raids of mentioned companies. An issue of taking appropriate officials to responsibility has been solving. 
Police raids have been initiating across all the regions in Ukraine.
